Manchester United’s struggles under Erik ten Hag have sparked speculation about his future. The Dutch manager’s tenure has seen many underwhelming performances, culminating in the club’s worst Premier League finish in history – 8th place. Currently, United sits 14th with just eight points and a goal difference of -3.
According to reports, Manchester United’s shareholders and sporting decision-makers INEOS, have identified Sporting manager Rubin Amorim as a potential replacement. The 39-year-old is renowned as one of the world’s top young managers, boasting an impressive trophy haul: two Portuguese league titles, two Portuguese Cups, and a Portuguese Super Cup.
Amorim’s tactical brilliance, communication skills, and flexibility make him an attractive candidate. His teams are known for creating space, utilizing interchanging movements to distract opponents, and exploiting defensive mistakes.
While Amorim isn’t considering a winter departure, his contract – valid until 2026 – includes a release clause that becomes active in the summer. This provision could pave the way for a potential move to Old Trafford if Eric Ten Hag is sacked.
