ARSENAL, KNOCKED OUT OF THE EFL CUP.

Arsenal faced Brighton Hove Albion in their first domestic cup competition of the season. The match took place in Emirates Stadium, the official in charge of the game was Jarred Gillett.

Both teams were in good shape coming into this game, Brighton recording back to back Premier League wins and moved up to sixth in the Premier League. Arsenal on the other are having their best season in a long time, Arsenal have only lost two of their 19 games this season.

Mikel Arteta rested nine of his first team players against Brighton, he gave 20 years old Estonian goal keeper, Karl Hein his first team debut. Eddie Nketiah scored the first goal of the match in the 20th minute, seven minutes later Brighton was awarded a penalty as a result of Karl Hein foul on Danny Welbeck, Welbeck took the penalty and scored, the first half ended a draw. Kaoru Mitoma came off the bench to give Brighton the lead in the 58th minute, Tariq Lamptey doubled Brighton’s advantage in the 71st minute. Arteta’s men couldn’t find a way back into the game and Brighton recorded a famous victory North London. Brighton progress to the fourth round of the EFL Cup and await their opponents after the conclusion of the third round matches.
