Chelsea and Nottingham Forest play out a 2-2 draw.

Nottingham Forest came into this game hoping to get the win against a struggling Chelsea side, the board had put their faith in Steve Cooper even when clubs have sacked their managers when they didn't perform well, he knew he had to stay up in order not to let the board and fans down. Nottingham Forest lined up in a 3-4-2-1 formation , Keylor Navas was in goal and Nigerian international Taiwo Awoniyi led the line.

Chelsea although already secured their Premier League status last time out and knew they had nothing to play for except pride. Chelsea lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, AFCON winner Edouard Mendy was in between the sticks, Thiago Silva and Beniot Badiashile were in the middle of the defense, Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher was in the middle of the pack and Joao Felix led the line.

Nottingham Forest was off to a quick start thanks to Awoniyi’s header which was arguably their only chance of the first half , Chelsea could have drew level in the 33rd minute through Felix’s header but he was denied by the experienced Keylor Navas , Chelsea had the majority of the ball but couldn’t capitalize on it as they struggled to create chances.

Chelsea was far better in the second half , they drew level through Sterling in the 51st minute and doubled their lead seven minutes later through Sterling, Chelsea’s lead didn’t last long as Awoniyi scored his 2nd of the match and 4th goal in two games, Chelsea were the far superior side in the game and tried to press for the winner but couldn’t beat Keylor Navas in goal and get pass the resistant Nottingham Forest back line.

The draw took Nottingham Forest to 16th place and three points above the relegation places, they would face title contenders Arsenal next and would have to be at there very best to get the three points because at this stage of the season only three points matter.

Chelsea face league leaders Manchester City next, the tie promises to be a mouth watery tie, both sides have played thrice this season and Manchester City have come out on top in every single encounter. This will probably be the most important feature for Manchester City this season and Chelsea have to be at there best to avoid being blown away.
