Chelsea Show Interest in French Forward Georginio Rutter

According to reports from German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea are interested in French forward Georginio Rutter.

The 22-year-old has played 33 matches this season and has been involved in 12 goals for Brighton.

The Seagulls signed him in the summer from EFL Championship side Leeds United for a club-record fee of £47 million.

He played 45 matches for Leeds United last season, where he scored six goals and provided 15 assists in the second division of English football.

He is young but a well-travelled striker, having played in France for Rennes and in Germany for TSG Hoffenheim, alongside his time in England.

Rutter is currently sidelined due to an injury he suffered during the early stages of April. He is expected to return in late May.

He has a contract with Brighton valid until 2028.
