Danish giants FC Copenhagen are close to signing Germany international Youssoufa Moukoko on a permanent transfer, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano.
Moukoko was once tipped to become one of the best players of his generation when he made his debut for Borussia Dortmund at just 16 years old in November 2020 against Hertha BSC. He made his UEFA Champions League debut the following month against Zenit Saint Petersburg, becoming the youngest player to feature in the competition at the time.
However, Moukoko struggled to live up to expectations at the German club, managing only 18 goals in 99 appearances. He was later loaned to Ligue 1 side Nice (last season), where he played just 11 league matches—starting only twice—and recorded two goals and one assist.
He also featured in the UEFA Europa League, making eight appearances (seven starts), but failed to make a strong impact, scoring just once.
The 20 year old has an opportunity to revive his career at FC Copenhagen where there will be less pressure. Denmark provides a serene environment for young players were they can grow, learn, and shine.
