Clube de Regatas do Flamengo clinched the 2025 CONMEBOL Libertadores title with a hard
fought 1–0 victory over Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, thanks to a decisive 67th-minute header from Danilo Luiz da Silva.
The triumph marks Flamengo’s fourth Copa Libertadores crown, making them the most successful Brazilian club in the competition’s history. Remarkably, three of those four titles involve Filipe Luís , two won as a player and now his first as head coach.
After the match, Filipe Luís reflected on the significance of the achievement, calling it “the greatest Copa Libertadores final.”
“I told my players it would be the greatest Libertadores final and that we would play in it. I think the level of our opponent further values the effort and the victory.”
The victory also secures Flamengo’s qualification for the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, confirming a second consecutive appearance in the expanded global tournament.
