Barcelona delivered a dominant performance against Sevilla on matchday ten of La Liga, winning 5-1 and extending their lead at the top of the table. The victory put them on 27 points, three clear of Real Madrid. It was Hansi Flick's first game in charge after the international break, and he didn’t disappoint.
Eric Garcia had to be replaced by Ansu Fati due to an injury during the warm-up, but this didn’t affect Barcelona’s momentum. The opening goal came in the 24th minute through a well-taken penalty by Robert Lewandowski. Pedri doubled the lead with a long-range strike from outside the box, assisted by Lamine Yamal. Lewandowski added his second and Barcelona’s third goal in the 39th minute, giving the hosts a comfortable advantage going into halftime.
Barcelona maintained control in the second half, and their dominance paid off when Pablo Torre scored the fourth goal in the 82nd minute. Stanis Idumbo came off the bench to score a consolation goal for Sevilla. However, Torre completed his brace in the 88th minute, sealing a 5-1 victory for the Catalans.
The win moves Barcelona to 27 points with a goal difference of +23. They now look ahead to the much-anticipated El Clásico against Real Madrid in their next La Liga fixture.
