Dani Alves has been sentenced to four years and six months in prison for harassing a woman. The incident took place at the Barcelona nightclub in the early hours of December 31, 2022. He was arrested in January 2023. Alves was accused by the woman of raping her in the bathroom. She said she agreed to enter the bathroom with Alves, but when she wanted to leave, he wouldn't let her. He slapped her, insulted her, and raped her. He denied the accusation, saying he doesn't know the victim but later said he met her in the bathroom, but nothing happened. He also told the court that he isn't that type of man. Evidence proved that Alves was guilty. On the night of the incident, the police who attended to the victim were said to have looked distraught. When asked the reason, she said she has been sexually harassed by Alves. The woman has been suffering from post-traumatic symptoms since the incident took place. State prosecutors wanted Alves to be sent to eight years in prison, while the victim wanted a twelve-year imprisonment. Alves was asked by the court to pay €150,000 to the victim and was sentenced to four years and six months in prison. Alves played for Bahia, Juventus, Barcelona, Sevilla, PSG, Sao Paulo, and the most recent side Unam. He has won 43 senior trophies, including the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and the Copa América. Alves is married to Joana Sanz and has two kids, Daniel Alves and Victoria Alves.
