Manchester City faces Sheffield United and Manchester United face Brighton in the FA CUP semi-final

Only four clubs are left in the FA CUP, Manchester United, Sheffield United, Brighton and Manchester City. Manchester City advanced by defeating Championship leaders Burnley, Haaland scored a hat-trick taking his goal tally to 42 goals.

Sheffield United faced fellow Championship side Blackburn Rovers, Tommy Doyle's late winner took Sheffield United to the Semi-final, and both his grandfather's Glyn Pardoe and Mike Doyle won the FA CUP in 1969. He is unable to play in the Semi final because of the rule of not being able to play against your parents club.

Manchester United advanced to the Semi final after coming from a goal down to defeat Fulham, the game played out in controversial circumstances as the referee gave a penalty and gave two Fulham players and Fulham’s head coach Marco Silver their marching orders.

Brighton trashed football league two side Grimsby Town, they faced no resistance from the league two sides as they put five past twenty-nine-year-old goalkeeper Max Crocombe and Solly March scored for the third game in a row.

Both Semi-Finals will be played on 22nd April, it will kick off at 3 pm and there be concluded that day, if there is no winner in regular time it will go to extra time and if there is still no winner the game will be decided by penalty, Manchester City will face Sheffield United and Manchester United will take on Brighton. There is a possibility that the final might be a Manchester derby if the two sides progress both sides have never met in a final of a major competition, Manchester City has been in the FA CUP Final eleven times and Manchester United have been in the final of the FA CUP 20 times.
