Meet Alhassan Yusuf: The Rising Star Set to Fill Wilfred Ndidi's Shoes.


Alhassan Yusuf has been called up to replace Wilfred Ndidi, the Antwerp man has only been called up to the national team once by Jose Peserio for a friendly match in the United States but couldn’t make it.

Alhassan Yusuf is a 23 year old from Kano State, Nigeria he started his career at Tiki Taka academy Nigeria ,he was scouted by IFK Göteborg in 2018 and he signed for the Swedish club July 25 2018, he went on to make 66 appearances for the club in all competitions and won the Svenska Cupen in 2020 because of his contribution in the heart of IFK Göteborg's midfield Antwerp came knocking.

On 16 July 2021 the 23 year old joined Antwerp and has been crucial for the Belgian side, last season when his side won the historic domestic double he played 27 games, he also helped the team win Copa de Bélgica this season and has cemented his place in the club's history by being part of the first set of players to compete in the club’s first season in the UEFA champions League.

Yusuf is versatile capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, center midfielder, and defensive midfielder, he has played a total of 1093 minutes this season, gave three assists, and scored a goal that came in the UEFA Champions League. His major strengths lie in dribbling, boasting a 100% completion rate this season, as well as in passing, tackling, and intercepting the ball.

With his qualities, Alhassan might become the breakout star at the AFCON and might cement his place in the Nigerian national team but first he has to silence his haters
