Newcastle United Consider Jarell Quansah for Defensive Reinforcement

Newcastle United have included Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah on their shortlist as they seek to strengthen their defense in the summer.

Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that while Quansah is on Newcastle’s radar, the club has yet to approach the player or his representatives.

Newcastle are prioritizing defensive reinforcements, as most of their current center-backs are over the age of 30, with Sven Botman being the only exception.

The 22-year-old has made 55 appearances for Liverpool and is regarded as one of England’s most promising defensive talents. He has received a senior national team call-up but is yet to earn a cap. Quansah is currently valued at around £30 million.

His versatility could be an asset for Newcastle, as he is capable of playing both as a center-back and a right-back.

Quansah remains under contract with Liverpool until 2028.
