
Phillip Billing's winner against Liverpool lifts Bournemouth temporarily out of the relegation zone

Liverpool came into this game with confidence after whipping Manchester United seven – nil in their last match. Liverpool were focused on getting the three points that would have taken them into the Champions League places, the last time this side met Liverpool were nine-nil winners at Anfield. Liverpool lined up in a 4-3-3 formation Allison was in goal, Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahim Konate were in defence and the front three were Coady Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.
Bournemouth were underdogs coming into this game, a win would take them away from the relegation places and put their season in the right direction as they fight to maintain their Premier League status, Bournemouth started with a 4-4-1-1 formation, former Barcelona goalkeeper Neto was in goal, Jack Stephens and Marcos Senesi were in defence and Phillip Billing and Dominic Solanke were in attack .
Billing put Bournemouth ahead in the 29th he was assisted by Dango Ouattara, Billing is Bournemouth’s highest goal scorer this season and he scored for the second game in a row. Liverpool kept attacking but they couldn’t find a way back as they were not able to control the midfield and put balls into the box, the first half ended with Bournemouth in front Liverpool made an half time change, Diogo Jota came in for Harvey Elliott, Liverpool’s Konate almost equalised from a set piece in the 47th minute but his shot goes over the bar. Jota almost leveled the game two minutes later but his shot was saved by Neto. Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp made three like for like changes in the 65th and 66th minute James Milner replaced Trent Alexander- Arnold who didn’t put in a good performance, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson replaced Fabinho and Roberto Firmino replaced Darwin Nunez who didn’t make his presence felt in the game.
Liverpool were awarded a penalty in the 67th minute, Adam Smith’s arm touched the ball in the box, Salah stepped up and missed greatly, his penalty was 7.0 metres wide off the target. The penalty was Liverpool’s best opportunity to get back into the game. Bournemouth made their first change of the game in the 70th minute as Ryan Christie replaced Billing, Bournemouth made another change in the 80th minute as Adam Smith was replaced by Ryan Fredericks because of injury in the 80th minute, Lewis Cook also replaced Jefferson Lema. Bournemouth almost doubled their lead through Ryan Christie but he couldn’t beat Allison in goal, Liverpool made their final change in the 88th minute as Fabio Carvalho replaced Stefan Bajcetic, Bournemouth also made their final changes as Antoine Semenyo came in to replace Dominic Solanke and Matías Nicolás Viña came in to Jaidon Anthony, the formation was a defence change to protect what they got. There was still a chance for another goal and Liverpool pressed forward Gakpo almost equalised in the 90th minute but his effort misses the post, there was one last chance for Liverpool in the fourth minute of added time but Coady Gakpo ‘s shot goes wide.
The defeat meant Liverpool missed a chance to enter the top four temporarily and are three points away from the top four, it could be six if Spurs wins their game this evening. They will face Fulham in the Premier League next week.
Bournemouth is out of the relegation zone temporarily, they are one point above the relegation zone, it’s a priceless win for them and a step in the right direction. They will face Aston Villa next in the Premier League, if Garry O 'Neil's men play like they did today they should get a good result against Aston Villa.
