Postecoglou’s Job at Tottenham Under Threat as Club Shortlists Iraola, Silva, and Frank

Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is not guaranteed.

Spurs are struggling this season, with only ten wins in twenty-nine Premier League games. They sit 14th in the league and have been knocked out of both domestic cup competitions. Their only chance of securing silverware and qualifying for the Champions League lies in winning the Europa League.

Postecoglou has received backing from the board, and fans, they acknowledge that Spurs have suffered a lot of injuries this season, which has affected their performances.

If Spurs were to relieve Postecoglou of his duties, Andoni Iraola is the favorite to replace him, The Athletic reports. Iraola has done an impressive job at Bournemouth, with the team playing an attractive brand of attacking football and breaking down opponents with ease. He is under contract with the Cherries until June 2026, with a £10m release clause.

The English media outlet also reports that Marco Silva and Thomas Frank are on Spurs' managerial shortlist. Silva has great Premier League experience, having managed Hull City, Watford, and Everton, and he is currently in charge of Fulham. He has made Fulham one of the toughest teams to break down this season, with the team currently sitting eighth, just three points off the Champions League places.

Meanwhile, Brentford head coach Thomas Frank is also highly regarded at Spurs. Since guiding Brentford to Premier League promotion in 2021, he has kept them in the league while playing an attractive style of football. Frank was linked with the Chelsea and Manchester United jobs last year but reaffirmed his commitment to Brentford, though he did not rule out a move in the future.
