Stefano Pioli’s Al Nassr suffers first defeat in the Saudi Pro League this season

Al Nassr suffered a surprising 2-1 defeat to Al-Qadisiyah in the Saudi Pro League. Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr’s captain, opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, but the lead lasted only five minutes as Julián Quiñones equalized for Al-Qadisiyah.

The decisive moment came in the 50th minute when former Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted the winner for Al-Qadisiyah.

The loss marked Al Nassr’s first defeat in the league this season. They now sit third in the Saudi Pro League standings, six points behind leaders Al Hilal, having played one game more. Adding to their struggles, Al Nassr has also been eliminated from the King Cup of Champions.

Meanwhile, newly promoted Al-Qadisiyah continues their impressive campaign under manager Míchel. With former Real Madrid star Nacho as captain, the team is currently fifth in the league with 22 points, boasting seven wins from 11 matches this season.

Following the game, Nacho shared a heartfelt message to Ronaldo on Instagram, writing:

“You are an EXAMPLE for the whole world, Cristiano. We lived the best moments of football together in our careers, and now seeing you in front of me is always a motivation. It was special, good luck with everything.”

Ronaldo’s goal in the match brought his career tally to an incredible 911 goals.
