West Ham's New Manager Plan Squad Overall to Raise Transfer Funds

West Ham’s new manager is planning to sell some players in the squad to raise funds for the summer transfer window.

Graham Potter was named West Ham's manager in January after a disastrous spell under Julen Lopetegui, which left the club on the brink of a relegation battle. However, Potter has managed to turn the situation around with a series of wins, securing their Premier League status.

According to The Guardian Sport, some potential departures from West Ham in the summer include Konstantinos Mavropanos (27), Emerson Palmieri (30), Guido Rodríguez (30), and Niclas Füllkrug (32).

Füllkrug was signed by West Ham for a fee of £27 million, but his time at the club has not gone as planned. Injuries have limited the German international to just nine Premier League appearances, with only three starts.

West Ham has shown ambition in the past weeks, they approached Lille midfielder Angel Gomes, who will be a free agent this summer regarding a potential transfer. The Guardian Sport reported that West Ham made a £100,000-a-week offer for the player, but he rejected it.

The club will be active in the summer transfer market, looking for players who fit Graham Potter’s style of play, as the board is prepared to back the 49-year-old.
